The 2022 Fall Production
“The Frisky Fifties”

Louisville, KY (September 29 – October 2, 2022) – Young Hearts Theatre is presenting their 2022 Fall Show, “The Frisky Fifties”, written and directed by Willa Fougnie. It is a fun-filled musical comedy that deals with the rise of rock and roll and how it was accepted by young and old. It is full of funny fifties music such as “Monster Mash”, “Purple People Eater”, “Charlie Brown”, “See You Later Alligator”, and many other comedy songs. It has some beautiful songs full of nostalgia as “Only You”, “Blueberry Hill”, “The Great Pretender”, “Mona Lisa” and others. The Rockerettes will be dancing to the times of the season of the 50’s.
The Frisky Fifties” show will be performed at the Ursuline Arts Center, 3113 Lexington Road, Louisville KY 40206 with 2:00 p.m. matinees on Thursday through Sunday, September 29th through October 2nd. The theatre entrance/exit has convenient handicapped access and a drop-off point for those requiring assistance, along with ample nearby parking
Auditions for those 60 years or older will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday July 12th in the student center of Hikes Point Christian Church, 2601 Hikes Lane, Louisville, KY 40218. Please come prepared to sing a 16 measure piece of up-tempo music, accompanied by either a karaoke-track on a CD, or a music score marked for the 16 measures to be played by our accompanist. Please be encouraged to join us, as we need not only singers and actors, as well as backstage helpers and front of house support.
Young Hearts Theatre, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, never charges for any of their shows, but tax deductible donations are always heartily welcomed to help defray production cost. Young Hearts Theatre was founded in 1979 by Eloise Terry, a retired internationally known professional Adagio dancer and a local TV performer. Young Hearts is designed to provide retired professional and non-professional performers the opportunity to contribute to the community and satisfy their desire to remain active in the performing arts. To join Young Hearts Theatre you must be age 60 or over and audition at the published audition dates prior to rehearsals for the show. Young Hearts produces two major original shows each year (a Spring and a Fall Show) as well as performing "Mini-Shows" for various clubs, organizations, assisted living and nursing facilities between their productions.
