Young Hearts Theatre

Young Hearts Theatre, a non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization was founded in 1979 by Eloise Terry, a retired internationally known professional Adagio dancer and a local TV performer. Young Hearts is designed to provide retired professional and non-professional performers the opportunity to  contribute to the community and satisfy their desire to remain active in the performing arts.

As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, Young Hearts will never charge for any of their shows, but donations are always heartily welcomed. To join Young Hearts Theatre you must be age 60 or over and audition at the published audition dates prior to rehearsals for the show. Singers, actors, dancers, and back-stage helpers are always needed. Young Hearts produces two major original shows each year (a Spring and a Fall Show) as well as performing "Mini-Shows" for various clubs, organizations, assisted living and nursing facilities between their productions.

(September 26-29, 2013) – Broadway New York, and Times Square, are exhilarating places to be, and particularly just before ‘ShowTime’ at all the theaters in that area. There is always an exciting atmosphere among show goers, as they jostle one another on the narrow sidewalks, to get to their theater in time for the show.

Young Hearts Theatre is presenting their production of the musical revue, “All Around Broadway”, devised and directed by Alan Weller, which explores musical theatre over the past 75 years, with familiar music, song and comedy from memorable Broadway shows, designed to provide nostalgic, fast moving entertainment for both the young and older.

The 2013 Fall Show, "All Around Broadway" will be performed at the Ursuline Arts Center, 3105 Lexington Road, Louisville KY 40206 on September 26, 28, 29 at 2:00 pm and September 27 at 7:00 pm. The theatre entrance/exit has convenient handicapped access and a drop-off point for those requiring assistance, along with ample nearby parking.

2013 Spring Show:  "The Church at Hidden Creek"

The members of the Church at Hidden Creek are trying to hold services even as they search for that “perfect” preacher. The search continues through mishaps, plots to raise money and some very improbable situations. A “laugh-out-loud” comedy with lots of jokes, dances and songs.
