Welcome to Smokey Ridge!

Development in the Smoky Ridge subdivision began in 1985. The original developers withdrew in 1989 due to the poor economy after completing 135 homes, and the development of Smoky Ridge was left incomplete for several years while being administered by the RTC. However, a significant portion of our infrastructure, such as sprinkler systems, sidewalks, some fencing, entrance signs, and lighting, was put in place.

Building resumed in 1992 when Johnson Development Company gained control of the property. By January 1993, 400 of the 516 homes had been completed. Major builders active in the community were Park Homes, Ryland Homes, Pulte Homes, and Continental Homes. The community was finally completed in 1996.

For the last several years Smoky Ridge has arranged various social events such as Easter Bunny visits, the Holiday Lighting Contest, and annual picnics. The Annual picnic is usually held in August at Peakview Park. Volunteers to organize events are always appreciated!
