You make the following statement below:
''However there still seems to be an effort in this new high school to cover up things up that may have a negative impact on the school system. Problems like this will never get solved if they never leave the Principal's office.''
Specifically back up your statement. This school dealt with inappropriate behavior and terribly bad choices made by a student, called authorities and pressed charges. The school principal also sent a letter home to all parents with children in the school. The student is suspended and has an expulsion hearing that will occur next week. In my mind things are well out of the principals office.
I don't think the school district has the money to buy a full page ad in the local papers announcing this - but they played the hand this child dealt them and I think did a good job.
This problem needs to be solved at home - while it's the schools job to keep our kids safe and educate them. It's the parents job to teach values and define expectations that they have for their child both while at home and away from home. Maybe the parent should have been more proactive and worked with the school to identify and ask for help if it was warrented.
