Boys will be boys!!

Now doesn't that feel better?

It is interesting to note that on the noon day news today on Channel four they reported a similar incident in Anchorage Alaska in one of their High Schools. However this student attacker used a knife instead of the beer bottle. He fled once the police were called. The victim student did not have life threatening injuries.

So the question is: how come it take so much effort here in Pickerington to hear about an attack in our school system or even a water pipe bursting in the North High School without the local news knowing about it? Even when the Fire Department is called.

Clearly the information in today's posting helps with the fears that were going through my family's minds. However there still seems to be an effort in this new high school to cover up things up that may have a negative impact on the school system. Problems like this will never get solved if they never leave the Principal's office.
Reactive vs. Proactive

We should support the school only if it took appropriate actions. It sounds like they did once an incident occurred, but someone else posted that the intended victim went to a teacher with reports of a threat and nothing was done. I would like to know more about this aspect of the incident. If this is the case, we should fully support the Sheriff's office in investigating this negligence on the part of the teacher and the school

School safety is of the utmost importance.

You are correct but

You need to put this in perspective, it is horrible and may be the symptom of a larger problem and hopefully that will be aggressively corrected. But honestly, things like this happen every day in the Columbus Public Schools, do you really think the TV stations or Dispatch are going to point out Pickerington in horror when it is considered just part of life ten miles away?

Maybe you are too far away to see reality. Of course this in not a reality we want here but calling in the big media or expecting them to swarm the place has other perspectives other than ''cover up''
Proactive starts at home

Sorry - but I think the principal did his job. Stopped a fight & charges have been filed against the student. It's a public record, not covered up.

What about a parent that would let his child leave home with a beer in the car to go to school? Accountability starts at home not once they get to school. Driving priviledges seem to be passed out easily. Maybe if this kid rode the bus & had his backpack checked & handed to him before he got on would have been in a better place to succeed at school.

It's not only up to our School District to enforce rules - it needs to start at home or parents put the School District in a bad place to start.
