Did it really happen?
Is the ''attack'' as serious as the previous postings stated or exagerated?
Did excited children that attend that school mislead the posters? Kids can really make a fish much larger with their words.
If the claims are true then we have a serious problem! If something like this had occurred in ANY other school system the local news would be reporting it relentlessly.
Why is the Pickerington Local School District off of the radar map of our local news?

Did it happen?
Ok lets say it was blown out proportion by my teenage daughter. It wasn't that bad.
Ask your self this:
Did this boy have beer on the school property during class room times?
Did this boy break the end of that beer bottle off and make a weapon out of it? Did he do it because he was high on other drugs including the beer?
So lets also check the public record. Clearly the school sent home a letter telling of the incident. If you do not believe I received the letter from my daughter's school then go to the North High School office and request a copy. Clearly the Fire and rescue squads were there that is recorded as public record. Please before you discount my concerns you should look into that record to make sure it did happen.
If it was just an everyday run of the mill fight then why would the school send a letter out to everyone? For every everyday altercation there would be hundreds of letters sent home every year. Clearly this wasn't just an altercation. How and why would the kids know that the victim asked for protection from a teacher? You know this attacker was making threats to everyone and to this victim for sure.
I hope my daughter is not the next victim. I hope your children are not the next victims if this happened the way I believe it happened. Since my daughter was not directly involved there is very little I can do about it if the school administration feels it was just an altercation. They will protect the privacy of this student and his parents over everyone's objections.
I do hope I am wrong in what I sense went on. If I am right then the next time this kind of incident will make the news and I am sure you don't what to see or read that story.
I would like some one maybe an adult from our school level with us all, because if the kids are scared then they are not doing their job; teenage homones or not.

Happen?
I do not doubt that it happened. I am just concerned that the only people in our school district that were informed have a child at that school.
For whatever reason, things that happen in our school system seem to find the ''black hole'' of reporting.
I certainly hope that an incident like this or worse ever happens again in our schools.

My impression
The administration is not certain if the beer was consumed at school or before school or at an earlier time period. However, the boy had the bottle in his car in the school parking lot.
During one of the lunch periods, the student went to his car and got the bottle. He came back into the school and went to the restroom. In the restroom, he broke off the end of the bottle and went after another student in the commons area. In confronting the other student, he cut himself with his bottle. The other student was not injuried. Staff were able to intervene and stop the confrontation from
getting out of control.
The boy is being recommended for expulsion at a hearing next week. Presently, he is serving an out of school suspension. Charges were
filed with the Sherrif's office.
I would say the School took the appropriate steps. Parents need to support the actions of our school system - the other children need to be in a safe enviroment and the school officials need to know parents do not advocate unacceptable behavior.
