Choosen that is a big fat load of bull crapolla. YOU as a parent have the children long before they are sent to school. A child learns what he/she lives. If you do not discipline a child early on, a child will NOT learn it later. You CAN teach a child to behave WITHOUT beating the hell out of them. A swat on the butt...go for it. To blame the schools and teachers for a parental failing is a cop out of gargantuian proportions. Yes it is a fact that some kids make poor choices and regardless of upbringing and parental influence and do bad things. Heck my dad told me not to smoke and drink booze but it didnt/hasnt stopped me.The schools say the same. We all make choices but to blame the schools for the ills of kids going bad or doing bad things is just out of line and not taking responsibility for parental actions. Schools should be tasked with teaching kids academics. Instead, teachers are now expected to make sure little Jonnie has had breakfast, a shower and clean clothes all the while dodging bullets, pissed off parents, fists and buthead parents that wont raise their own kids. What a load of crap. Step up for once and take some responsibility. As I write this I am wondering why I am even wasting my time with you. You have nerer "gotten it" and I suspect you never will. I guess I should thank you for giving me an excuse for being overweight, drinking and smoking. I wonder what else I can blame on my teachers and society. Heck if I believe your line of thinking, I am not responsible for anything I do. Not a bad gig if you can convince society of it. Heck lets open the prisons and jails because after all it is not their fault they broke the law. I am going to stop paying my bills because the school didnt teach me to. See how long that lasts. I will keep you psoted on this...it may be hard to do because I will soon loose the net connection if I dont pay the bill. I guess I can use the library but I wont have a car to ge there. See how it works choosen.... Herman |

Herman- I don't know why you have chosen to make your attack personal. Clearly I was just in agreement with the poster prior to me. (but you didn't attack him) Clearly the poster before that posted to be in agreement with the poster before him which all stated or agreed that the issues are in our schools. Yet you attack me. Hummmmmm? No, schools are to blame. When kids come home and tell parents what they can and can't do to punish misbehavior that kid has just enter a world of falsehood. A world the schools thought them. Heck, I believe they even pass out numbers to DHS. In short I can speak political, religiously, or educationally, but what our schools are doing to our children should be illegal. You can make personal attacks on what you choose not to hear, but the truth speaks for itself. Better days..................

I don't know if I agree that the problems solely lie in our schools. Parents have more of a responsibility to their kids then a school should ever attempt to give. A schools concern is that kids safety, period. They leave decisions on everything else to other agencies. Teachers/schools should be commended for their efforts, not questioned. Maybe this is what Herman was trying to say.
