A smoking ban is discrimination, pure and simple.
No one shoves lit cigarettes into your pie hole and squeezes your nostrils shut until you start puffing. No one passes a law saying you MUST smoke if you come in here. But democrats did all that to smokers, in reverse fashion. Democrats are still fighting for total gun control. Democrats pretty much nailed smokers in Iowa. Democrats are sniping away at obesity. You big mac munchers are next. Strange, smoking in movies is pretty much out but violence is more abundant and graphically gory than ever. It's being copied by students in schools, on the streets and in homes and by adults. Drugs are everywhere. And the democrats are content to waste time, money and effort squashing smoking, and feel like they really accomplished something. |

rhirdt - you are SO correct. No one has a RIGHT to smoke in a place where others could have adverse effects from that smoke. As I said in an earlier post Iowa is the 30th state to go smoke free in public places. People in those other 29 states still smoke - just not in public places. They are free to smoke in their own homes, cars, yards and of course select other places. If you go to a bar or a restaurant and feel that you MUST have a smoke - go outside. As it is today non smokers stay away from restaurants that allow smoking - even if they have a non-smoking section. Having smoking and non-smoking sections in a restaurant is like having peeing and non-peeing sections in a swimming pool!!!!!! I say if you think you are discrimated against because you smoke you are blowing smoke up your own butt!!!!

So, if a lot of those yes voting politicians are put out of work when they come up for re-election, don't yell DISCRIMINATION. Lol.
