BTW... I forgot to say.. Howard looked me glareingly(sp) in the eyes, and let me go...

I lied, and said I didn't shoot any off....

His flashlight that shined in my eyes the minute it launched told a diff story....

I will never forget the glare of his eyes....

Yes, the muscatine cops are rude. It didn't used to be like that, there actually used to be decent, honest cops like Sheriff Snyder, Ed Halligan and some others. That was when helping people was their main concern. That was until a certain sheriff got elected. It's funny how the honest just goes away when certain people are around. Just my opinion.

what has the sheriff have to do with the cops they both have there own place.  the group of people at the sheriff dept are in no way like the people at the cop shop.sheriffs people are a great group of people there real people they dont hide behind a badge to be ruthless and get by with it.some people at the cop shop get by with murder the cops are mean and nasty i have witnessed how they act and its not goodthey thrive on being hatefull. so dont compare the two because they HAVE NOTHING IN COMMON. GOOD LUCK C J you have more then earned the right to be sheriff.p.s. yes ed halligan was a great cop but there are no more like him.

Alwaysandnever, you must be a friend of Snyder....are you saying that Sheriff Orr is not honest?  I would be one of many to disagree with you! Before you ask...I don't work at the sheriff's office, but have known Greg for a long time.  He is a very honest person, and would help anyone he could.  I was very sad to hear he wasn't running again...he is obviously respected by alot of people.  C.J. Ryan will be the best choice to follow in his footsteps....

As for the topic of the original post....Not all officers of the law (city or sheriff) are rude...Have you ever heard the saying "One bad apple....." there are many officers who are out there to help people and are always polite and take the extra steps to make a person feel safe without any rudeness!  But then there are some who have the attitude they are better than everyone else, maybe some personalities handle the job better than others...all I know is when I need an officer, I hope I get one of the good ones!
