I'm sorry guys.  I'm  gonna tick a lot of you off w/ this post.  Blast me if you want, I won't change my mind.  Undecided  I have had a couple of bad experiences w/ officers in the past.  There are a few that feel they are a God when they get that uniform.  What did I do?  I went to their superior & complained.  If your complaint has merit & isn't venomous... it will be taken seriously.  For crying out loud, don't lump them in w/ the good ones?

There are good & bad people in every position.  I could tell you stories!  We had some serious issues when my 15 yr. old son was a toddler.  Our home was burglarized; items were stolen that gave information to the thieves.  The police advised & surrounded us  with wisdom & safety.  The thieves came back; the police were @ our home soon after we dialed 911.  They put our family in their car for safety & efficiently took care of the problem.  Our son had fears after this.  One officer came to our home & told him how he would watch our home, but he would need his help.  He "deputized" him, & gave him pretend badges.  He was such a hero & always will be.

There are good people on every police force, just like there are good people @ every work place in America.  Chosen, I like a lot of your posts, but HOW CAN YOU dare  lump them all in one category?  How can any of you?  When I dial 911... I want to know that I can trust the person responding.  If you have a problem w/ an officer, take down their name, badge # and make your complaint to their superior.  Put in on the record & don't just crab about it to others.  Make a difference in our world & in our town.  "Walk a mile in my shoes...the problem is that you are still wearing your own shoes."

crkdcophatr has it wrong once again.  Police might be Civil Servants, but they are NOT in Civil Servitude.  They do NOT work for you, they work for the government that represents you.  May I suggest a course is civics?

And I am quite pleased that you are highly offended by what I said about them being situational attitude adjustment specialists, because I am highly offended that anti-citizens such as you help to waste my tax dollars on an already bloated criminal justice system.

cops attitudes....rhirdt, wish you'd try to refrain from simply attacking people for their posts, show's your prejudicial position, and who invented "anit-citizen" any way? And I pay taxes so in the event i do get wrapped up on the wrong side of the legal system, I'll pay the bill ok, now you can relax.

Well put tlou!! As I said in my post on page 5, all officers are not the same.  I have had good and bad experiences and have many friends who are on the police and sheriff dept. They have a tough job!

A few bad apples is all it seems to take....
