Is it just me, or does anyone else thinkt he Journal is perpetuating their ''rip off'' by rasing their price to $.75 per copy? I don't minf paying more for things if I get more, but the Journal gave nothing more for their 50% increase. Wouldn't it be nice if every business could increase their price by 50% because they too were a monopoly?
The Hournal has no competition so it has no motivation to compete. It seldom has any ''real'' news and has devolved into not much more than a ''community calander.''
If it weren't for public government meetings I can't imagine what they would print.
New editor, new publisher, same old empty pages of non-news. I gues Lee Enterprises needed a better bottom line so they uped the price of an already overpriced commodity.
It's time the Journal went to a once or twice weekly publication. It wouldn't at all affect their ''news'' delivery since it's almost non-existent, and it might justify the $.75 price. Atleast it would be less of a sham.
