East Rogers Park enjoys Loyola University, Lake Michigan beaches and a well educated, "techie" population. The neighborhood highlights include a vibrant theatre district, multiple parks such as Touhy and Pottawatomie and the annual Artist Of The Wall Festival each June. Architecture includes Victorians and contempory design. Condos and single family homes are available in a wide price range.There is now a high-rise construction ban in an attempt to protect lake views. The neighborhood has been described as very "walkable".
