Welcome

The GrassRoots Leadership Academy is a non-profit program designed for community leaders and emerging leaders. The program provides exciting hands-on activities through workshops, forums, projects and interactive experiences.

This nine-month structured training program provides leadership skill development opportunities for those individuals who are ''in the trenches'' and are interested in creating change in their respective neighborhoods and in improving the quality of life for its residents.

We offer an eight week training program (consecutive Turesdays and Thursdays) that meets from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and an eight month training program 9every other Saturday) that meets from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon.

The curriculum for the Academy focuses on a variety of topics and leadership skills. Class sessions are structured so that there is ample time for follow-up, group discussion and strategy development. Topics included, but are not limited to: Economic Development, Leadership Skill Development, Financial Stewardship, Public Policy vs. Public Issues, Strategic Planning, Conflict Resolution, Building Community Based Organizations, Proprosal and Grant Writing, Understanding Government, Using Community Resources and Public/Media Relations Strategies.

We also offer customized training programs including Board Development and training workshops to meet your specific community needs.

THIS PROGRAM IS FREE TO ANY CITY OF CINCINNATI RESIDENT.
