Welcome

The River Bend Association was organized in 1986 when a group of neighbors met to discuss the area's needs.

The group arranged a meeting with the City manager, the chief of police and a number of city department heads joining the approximately 75 neighbors that attended.
River Bend is committed to improving our neighborhood.

Accomplishments include:
*Making a pictorial survey of the neighborhood.
*Surveying the area and assessing the condition of vacant lots and properties.
*Identifying ownership of vacant lots and abandoned properties.
*Lobbying City officials for the demolition of abandoned and hazardous properties in the area.
*Lobbying City officials to crack down on area prostitution.
*Providing leadership in cleaning litter-strewn and weed infested lots during the city's SCRUB clean-up efforts.

A bit of work remains to be done. You are invited to become a member of the association.

Membership dues are $10 per year per person. Area residents are encouraged to join the association and become voting members. This allows the neighborhood and the association to benefit from your ideas, gifts, talents and energies.

River Bend meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at the Trinity Methodist Church located at the corner of 8th and College.
