Not only ''Columbus Children''

I think you need to visit the state web site again, It is not only the ''Columbus Children'' in this demographic phenomena, I see Pickerington Elementary results suggesting some/maybe many, are struggling too. Maybe cramming all those fourth graders into the portables at this school is not such a good idea when we have to test them....test them so we can advertise the results to maintain our real estate values...maybe not being ''excellent'' will slow down the building!

This is not a ''Columbus Children'' issue, I think the staff at our schools do an outstanding job with some very difficult circumstances that they face each day not the least of which is squeezing blood out of a turnip in their building budgets, while the board votes to build a soccer stadium and a new track with the left over levy money! We really need to get our priorities straight in my view. Those priorities should be what is best for all the kids, not just those who play sports or live in an expensive neighborhood. Those priorities should not include cutting valuable programs which enrich the lives of students and prepare them for a successful future, to devote more resources to chasing these state test scores.

If you are really concerned about your property value, sell now, it ain't gonna get better as we go on because of the contuniued fallout from the actions prior gang at Lockville Road that will last for at least a decade maybe more.

While you think my prior analogy to the cross burning is outrageous I don't think it is.

The Klan's purpose of doing so in the civil rights era was a way of intimidating people but to also let someone know that they were a marked man. The Klan passed judgement on others, covered their faces (Anonymous) and acted with total mob mentatility.

That is the the exact same thing that is occurring here with this posting. From one comment in the paper Jim is now racist, discriminatory, a liar, a hijacker and not interested in our kids or our schools. You have acted like judge, jury and executioner without even asking a question of the defendent! Jim would be nuts to respond in this forum given that attack dog mentatlity that has been displayed so far so I doubt you are going to get any answers here - at least not from a very reliable source!

I think standardized tests are a poor reflection on how good or bad a school is so I can see where he was going with this comment. Jim was also NOT one of the racist parents that was on the boundary committee that was trying to keep the black kids out of 'their' school AKA - Pickerington NORTH!

So get off your high horse and ask Jim to explain himself and his comments. First try it in a dignified manner and not the pit-bull style being displayed here. www.jimbrink.org has his contact information - I don't think he posted his home number for just the people who know him to call. Don't want to call - go to mail.yahoo.com and create a dummy account and email him and just sign your first name - BE CREATIVE - but for crying out loud - give the man a BREAK and a least give him the chance to respond. If I were any elected official I'd stay as far as way as I could from this forum!

Unlisted phone number

You people are giving us all grief about calling Jim Brink and talking with him personally yet he has an unlisted phone number and you all what me to waste my time. He only wants to talk with the people he knows? I didn't run for office but if I did isn't there a requirement to have a phone listed somewhere? Then you say to dummy up a yahoo e-mail address and only use our first names. What is the different of just using our first names here on this web site posting?

There may have been some people go off of the deep end in their comparison of Jesse Jackson but this is great feed back for those in public office that have stepped in the old do do and won't correct themselves. The voters had expectations and Mr. Brink is not living up to them. If he wants to be school board president and doesn't like the state testing how does he get around that while improving the students performance? That isn't even my concern but it is the concern of some of those posting here.

Finding fault with the voters is what got those at city hall in trouble. This is for Lisa Reade and Jim Brink to answer and that answer is not that we are on a witch hunt so you won't respond. Hell write a letter to the editor.
