How to Add-A-Link

"Hot Links" to other internet web sites

Add a Link allows you to ‘hotlink’ your neighborhood’s web site to ANY web site on the internet, such as:
- Schools
- Map Locators
- Government officials
- Government/Civic agencies
- Police/Safety
- Other neighborhood web sites
- Neighborhood-friendly organizations, foundations, etc.
- News/Media

Step-by-Step Instructions

Steps:
1. If you haven’t already done so, add a bookmark/favorite for your neighborhood website. This will allow you to return to your neighborhood page easily.
2. Create another bookmark/favorite for the internet search engine you use most frequently (Yahoo, Alta Vista, etc.)
3. Go to the web site that you would like your neighborhood website to be hotlinked to.
4. Copy that web site address:
- Position the mouse in the web site address field and click the mouse button once. This will highlight the entire web site address.
- From the ‘Edit’ menu at the top of the screen, select copy.
5. Using the bookmark/favorite, return to your neighborhood’s web site.
6. Go to Coordinator Access and enter your username and password.
7. Click on ‘Add-a-Link’.
8. Click your mouse in the title field and type in the name of the hotlink.
9. Tab to the ‘address’ field and delete the existing text (http//).
10. From the ‘Edit’ field, select ‘Paste’.
