Here is my recipe.
Beef and Barley Supper
Brown 1 pound of ground beef with 1 medium chopped onion. While they are browning boil 1 cup of water in a sauce pan and add 1/2 cup quick cooking barley, simmer for 10 minutes. drain fat from beef, add barley, one 15 ounce can of diced tomatoes( liquid too) and one can beef broth. Add salt, and pepper to taste, I add a dash or two of Cayenne pepper. Turn heat to low and simmer lid off for 25 minutes.
