I have to agree
with a couple of other posters. Bob Howard's brother has passed away and may be the timing of this post was not meant to coincide with the opinion as others have so duly noted. However, I believe Bob Howard and the rest of the council are in a Catch 22 situation.
People want to nitpick about who cuts the staffing when we should be looking at ways to keep from having to make any cuts at all. But then those who nitpick would just turn around and bellyache about their property taxes being raised. I don't want my taxes raised but if there are cuts that have to be made let the respective agencies determine those cuts, submit them to the council for approval/disapproval and lets move on.
If you critics are so concerned about whose going to stand up and puff out their chest claiming they ''held the line'' then I suggest next time an open seat comes up on the council you place your name on the ballot for consideration since you obviously feel you're more qualified than Howard, Lange, Bynum and Osama at curing our City's ills.
