Kenwood is a beautiful, lakefront neighborhood that has recently enjoyed a return to its earlier grandeur and vitality. There are many historic landmarks and mansions from the early 1900's, as well as excellent architecture representing the entire last century. Newer development reflects an appreciation of history while addressing modern needs and tastes. The Hyde Park Art Center has been a cultural center in the neighborhood since 1939. Madison Park is a small, private park and Kenwood Community Park is a larger city park well used by residents.
