Wonder what ever happened to the Neighborhood Watch program?  Did it ever get off the ground?

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!

The Blockwatch program is as simple as volunteering to be a coordinator for the committee. The City of Columbus offers a lot information on how to have a good community blockwatch organization. They even have free seminars...we just need residents that are interested in helping out in our community. We could have National Night Out celebrations and other fun events if we had someone to help coordinate and get people involved in our neighborhood.

"Most people know how to make a home safer: locked windows, lights on timers, safes for valuables and guns, neighborly vigilance, calls to police to report anything outside the norm."

"But time and again," Woods said," police find that victimized homeowners simply didn't do those things."
