Continuing with the 40th Anniversary celebration and introducing the holiday season, Roscoe Village hosts Christmas Open House at Dr. Johnson's House. Dr. Johnson's house is always beautifully adorned for the holiday season including elegant live pine wreaths decorated with naturally dried flower, cones, nuts and seed pods. As you enter the home, you will find a beautifully decorated tree with antique and old-style decorations. The delicious aroma coming from the kitchen pantry offers up yummy Christmas treats such as plum pudding, comfets cookies and hot cider served to you by a woman of the 1800s portrayed by Seneth Darr.

Holiday Lights Parade & Festival
Gahanna's Holiday Lights Parade and festival is one of the most unique anywhere. You'll find family oriented activities for all ages in the quaint and historic "Olde Gahanna". in anticipation of the 11th annual Holiday Lights! Parade & Festival. Join Grand Marshal Tiney McComb, Chairman of Heartland Bank, on Saturday, Nov. 28, as Gahanna heralds the season with one of the most popular holiday events in central Ohio, the famous parade of lights. The parade steps off at 6 p.m. from the Gahanna Municipal Building, 200 S. Hamilton Rd., travels north on Hamilton, then west onto Granville Street and into downtown Gahanna.
The festivities will begin at 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 27, with two new attractions:
• A holiday children’s village located in the center of Olde Gahanna on Creekside Plaza, and
• The new family-oriented Holiday Mystery Pizza Party. Visitors will enjoy a delicious pizza dinner as they collectively solve the holiday caper at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary, 82 N. High St.
The fun continues on Saturday with the Holiday Story Time Breakfast, Santa’s Secret Workshop and visits with Santa. Additional festival activities include: children’s crafts and games, holiday cuisine, horse-drawn holiday rides, entertainment, the Olde Gahanna Community Partnership Festival of Trees silent auction, unique offerings at a variety of downtown establishments, and most notably, the Holiday Lights Parade.
The flurry of activity is just starting when the sun goes down, as Ohio’s premiere evening parade begins (6 p.m.) and warms the crowd with lighted entrants, including: both community designed and professionally constructed floats, three marching bands, horse drawn carriages and a host of other dazzling surprises, along with post-parade fun.
In addition to the parade and festival, visitors strolling through Creekside Park & Plaza will delight in the magnificent 30-foot lighted tree, the new holiday children’s village, and the twinkling light displays at the Winter Wonderland at Creekside Park (Nov. 13, 2009 - Jan. 4, 2010).

This traditional event launches the Christmas shopping season in historic downtown Worthington. On Sunday noon village shops feature refreshments, holiday demonstrations, musical entertainment, carriage rides, Winter Farmers Market, located indoors at the Griswold Center at 777 High Street on the village green, and merchandise specials. Santa arrives at 1 PM to reside in his sleigh for photos with children outside the Worthington Inn. This event closes with the annual Christmas Tree lighting which takes place on the Village Green.

The holiday season opens in Ohio with the 94th annual Statehouse Tree Lighting. Join the community for this free festival of holiday activities, including: carolers, refreshments, model trains, community mascots and much more. Historical characters and modern dignitaries will be on hand to greet guests, including Santa himself.
The Ohio Statehouse will officially kick off the holiday season on Capitol Square on December 1 with a public open house and holiday festival. The "Ohio Statehouse Holiday Festival and Open House" will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. inside the Capitol Square complex in downtown Columbus. The event is free and open to the public.
The public is invited to "come to the People's House" and participate in the FREE FAMILY-FRIENDLY holiday festival and open house. The event will include refreshments and performances by community choirs and the Chapel Brass of the Salvation Army. Other program elements will include: Lego Club model train display, a Santa and Mrs. Claus photo station, a finger printing I.D. station, a puppet show, Civil War re-enactors, various community mascots and much more.
The lighting of the Statehouse and two evergreen trees on the grounds with flood lights will be marked with the firing of a Civil War-era cannon. The lighting of Capitol Square will take place at 6 p.m. The cannon will be fired by members of the 1st Ohio Light Artillery, Battery A.
The Ohio Statehouse Holiday kickoff event is a tradition that dates back to 1915. The annual holiday event has been entertaining people and celebrating the holidays for the past 94 years. The focal point of the 2009 event will be the indoor festival in the Statehouse Rotunda and Atrium, providing an evening of family-friendly activities.
