Arrowhead Connection

“Arrowhead Connection” has developed a planning committee and these board members participate in various functions in our neighborhood.

Board & Summer Celebration Coordinator: Organizes and facilitates meetings; works with Communications Coordinator in creating quarterly newsletters, flyers, etc. that need to go out to the neighborhood; provides leadership as necessary. Coordinates the annual Summer Celebration.

Communication & Neighborhood Watch Coordinator: Keeps neighbors informed of Neighborhood Watch and Arrowhead Connection Social events via newsletter, E-mail, phone calls, flyers, etc. Provides Welcome Packets for the Block Captains to welcome new residents. Coordinates National Night Out with Block Captains and provides the neighborhood with safety programs and alerts.

Arrowhead's Neighborhood Watch

Our Neighborhood Watch has a focus on neighbors getting to know one another. In this regard our goal is the same as the social group in our neighborhood, Arrowhead Connection, and many of us are a part of both groups.

Concerned neighbors, who feel unity in our neighborhood is important and vital to keeping it safe, have volunteered to be Block Captains. The services Block Captains perform are to welcome new residents to their street, receive the new residents’ information form for the next updated directory distribution, plan our annual National Night Out event with their neighbors, and pass on crime awareness alerts to their street as the need may arise. Periodically, throughout the year we have safety events for the family.

We also have an e-mail roster made up of neighbors’ e-mail addresses that we encourage everyone to be on. We are able to quickly inform the neighborhood of a crime or an act of mischief that has occurred in our neighborhood. The roster is confidential and e-mails are sent out “blind carbon copy” if you wish your e-mail address to remain private. Also, Arrowhead Connection has a roster to remind you of the social events. You can be on one or both rosters.

Suzanne Meyer, our Flying Arrow Block Captain, is our Neighborhood Watch Liaison, who keeps our neighborhood in touch with our SAFFE (San Antonio Fear Free Environment) Officer and advises and updates the Block Captains.
