About The Woodlands Homeowners Association

The Woodlands Homeowners Association (WHA) is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 1987 by the original developers of The Woodlands neighborhood, a Planned Urban Development.

The purpose of the organization is to maintain and improve the quality of living and property values within the neighborhood. The Woodlands Homeowners Association attempts to accomplish its purpose by preparing and managing a budget for maintaining common areas between lots and at the entranceway into the neighborhood, and for ensuring compliance with the standards of the neighborhood which are outlined in the Covenants, Codes, and Restrictions (CC&Rs). The WHA also serves as a medium for addressing issues that threaten the neighborhood. Every lot owner in The Woodlands is legally bound to the CC&R standards and is a member of The Woodlands Homeowners Association.

The entire membership of the WHA is invited to participate in the Annual Meeting. At the Annual Meeting, the budget is reviewed, goals are set, and board members are elected by the lot owners, usually to three-year terms. Homeowners assumed control of the Board of Directors, away from homebuilders, at the 1996 Annual Meeting.

Board members are volunteers and are not paid for their work. The board members elect board officers. The Board meets quarterly to discuss issues affecting the community. A Homeowner can address the Board at any time in writing, or attend a Board meeting to address a specific concern. To have an issue put on the agenda, contact our Property Manager, Joy Goldsberry, to be placed on the agenda and to obtain meeting date, time, and location.

Ghertner and Company has been retained as The Woodlands’ professional property management company. Joy Goldsberry has been our property manager for several years, and may be contacted during business hours as follows:
