Village by the Creek Neighborhood Association

Purpose of the VBCNA:

A. To operate as a non-profit entity.

B. To preserve and improve residential quality of life in the neighborhood.

C. To provide a means by which members may exercise greater control over economic, political, and social forces which influence quality of life in the neighborhood.

D. To encourage delivery of Metro services to the neighborhood.

E. To promote understanding among property owners, residents and business interests, while fostering a sense fo neighborhood identity, sense of community and civic pride.

F. To encourage maintenance, regulation and enforcement of zoning ordinances and building codes.

G. To promote general safety and welfare of the neighborhood by engaging in other nonprofit activities.

Membership in VBCNA

Members. Any adult residing within the neighborhood boundaries, either owning or renting property, and who agrees to the general purposes of the VBCNA may be a member of the Assocoation. There shall be no discrimination because of race, color, creed, marital status, country of origin, sex, age, financial status or position, degree of formal education, or anything that would give advantage or disadvantage to one person over another. Membership shall commence upon completion of application and payment of dues.

Dues. The Association may assess dues of members or solicit contributions from them. The amount of dues shall be set by the General Membership. Failure to pay dues or make contributions SHALL NOT impair any member's rights in the Association.

Voting. Each member is entitled to one vote, with a maximum of two votes per houselhold. At all meetings, members may vote in person, or by proxy.

Meetings

Annual Meetings. An annual meeting of the Association shall be held for the purpose of electing officers and conducting other business. The annual meeting shall be in January of each year. The exact date, time and place of the meetng shall be communicated to the membership by letter mailed by First class postage no less than seven (7) days prior to the meeting.

Regular Meetings. Regular Meetings of the Association, originally held the first Saturday of each month, have been suspended, by a vote of the General Membership. Instead, Special Meetings may be called by the President, or the Board of Directors. Additionally Special Meetings may be called by request to the President, by persons representing one fourth of the General Membership. Notice of Special Meetngs shall be given as above, and shall include the purpose of the meeting.
