Summer Beer

JOS and others....Do you have any new beers that you've tried that would be worth a try over the long, hot summer months?  I found, much to my surprise, that the new Bud Lime was a nice, light, refreshing brew, much more palatable than it's Miller counterpart.

Might try "Fat Tire". Pretty good from a bottle very cold. Several varietites.

If you ever find "Coopers Pale Ale" from Australia do your self a big favor and drink as much of it as you can. It is great stuff. Not easy to find here but worth the hunt if you find it. A bit expensive but well worth it for a change. My Aussie friends say "Fosters" is swill...well not exactlly what they say but you get the idea.

Agree 100% about the Fosters....have never developed a taste for it.  The Coopers sounds like a must-try....can you find it here?

I would offer another choice.  I ran across a really good beer in Madison....Spotted Cow.

Thanks for the input.

I've been enjoying the Millstream brews from the Amanas. Their spring beer, Maifest is quite tasty. HyVee still had some last week when I was there. Millstream also has their Iowa Pale Ale which is quite bitter but good.

I also enjoy the New Belgium 1554. Has a great flavor if you care for the darker varieties.

My summer go to beers have to be the Boulevards. The Pale is very drinkable with a mild hoppyness (aah the persuit of hoppyness) and the wheat is good as well. If you can find it, the Bob's 47 is fantastic. HyVee had some last fall.

Not a lot of variety here in Muscatine. The HyVee in Coralville has a great selection as well as Johns Grocery in Iowa City.
