Parking Problem

Any good ideas out there about how to handle a parking problem----if there are signs posted in alleys that say No Parking in alley but people don't think that applies to THEM what can you do? Do you call the police or who do you contact about getting it taken care of. Of course then the next problem is if they know who calls you run the risk of getting graffiti all over your garage or other damage. HELPPPPPPPPPPPP/

There is nothing you can do.  The city has never enforced a downtown ordinance and I doubt they will start now. Trash ordinances, noise ordinances even the ordinance about no sandwich board signs on the sidewalk.  Hell, even parking meter enforcement is selective.  They only ticket who they want too. They don't care.  Welcome to life in downtown Muscatine.

I know what you are saying Opiniated but this is a residental area and straight across from my garage so it makes it very difficult to pull in and since there is two signs in alley that say No Parking in alley do you think the police will take care of it or do you think go to my counselman?

Your council person is Marie Press.  She is very good and very helpful and probably could be of assistance.  However her husband just passed away this past weekend, and I don't know how available she is going to be.  Call Osama Shehadah he is also very receptive and helpful.  Good luck.
