Devcon is going door to door again. When I asked the sales person for his permit and identification (as recommend by our HOA) he couldn't or wouldn't produce either. He claims that he spoke to the HOA president and that she was okay with the fact that he didn't have ID. This didn't sit right with me so I asked him to leave. It took several times of asking nicely before I had to step outside and make it clear that I wasn't interested and that he need to leave before I got the police involved. That is the third sales person from Devcon that has come by and they have all been pushy and don't understand a simple "no thank you". At least this time my security cameras were able record his visit. So, is the HOA aware that Devcon is using their names as a sales tool? I would be interested to know...

Well the HOA president is a guy (me) and I've approved nothing of the sort. Without a permit and ID, they are illegally going door to door. Call the PD immediately. They may or may not be casing homes for times people are home to come back later and burglarize. BTW, our VP would not have permitted anything of the sort either. -Jim

I forgot to mention also, that I'm not aware specifically of Devcon or any other company going door to door. They don't really contact us (the HOA board) nor do they have to. They do however have to comply with the law in the City of Fort Worth. If you get their names let me know, I would be happy to contact the local sales office to complain. We can't stop people from going door to door, however without an ID and permit they can be cited by the Police (I believe the charge is "impersonation"). Next time they come by, just have them go away, and call the police (don't tell them ahead of time you're doing it-this gives the PD a better chance of catching them). Please post this on our Facebook page also, Facebook is where we're primarily posting things now these days. http://www.facebook.com/rthoa Thanks, Jim Roland RTHA President

Thanks for the reply, Jim. I don't use Facebook and it appears you have to have an account to even view it.
