Pretty much the touch of death in Central OH for President Bush.

Pickerington -- The Bush/Cheney campaign named former Pickerington City Councilman Craig Maxey chairman of the Fairfield County campaign.

''It's an honor, and we have an exciting campaign coming up,'' Maxey said. ''I believe in what President Bush is doing and want to help him get re-elected.''

Maxey said the Fairfield County campaign has a goal of recruiting 721 volunteers to help spread the Bush/Cheney message throughout the county.

''Our goal is to have at least one volunteer in every precinct to help out, and we are well on our way,'' Maxey said.

In 2000, Bush/Cheney did well in Fairfield County, outpolling Gore/Leiberman by a vote of 33,523 to 19,065.

''We want to do the same or better in 2004,'' Maxey said. ''He has proven leadership, especially after Sept. 11, and he has done a good job for our country under some serious times. We are hoping to continue that trend for another four years.''

Maxey said the effort will be a grassroots one to get the word out about how great the Bush administration has been.

''We are going to have a massive sign and literature campaign in the county,'' Maxey said. ''And we are going to be there to help them get to the polls.''

Franklin County: Lt. Gov. Jennette Bradley, Columbus

Licking County: David Rhodes, Newark

Perry County: Joe Williams, New Lexington

Pickaway County: Michael Whitten, Circleville

Hocking County: Kim Miller, Logan

Work for Mr. Bush

I'll work for Mr. Bush, under the auspices of the Northwest Fairfield County Republican Club. Mr. Bush will need all the help we can give.

There is a very important question being asked here. How in the world would President Bush and his campaign committee select Craig Maxey to head up his Fairfield County re-election effort?

It is very apparent that Mr. Maxey padded his resume and left out some very important information. Or should we say he didn't mention the skeletons in his closet?

Can anyone tell me or President Bush the last election Craig Maxey was in and he actually won?

Did the President know that Mr. Maxey had a warrant for his arrest issued by the Franklin County Municipal Court for an 2001 unpaid speeding ticket?

Did the President know that Mr. Maxey was a sitting council person in 2002 and lost his precinct badly to a relative unknown candidate?

Did the President know that Mr. Maxey negotiated a deal with Colonial Heating's owner for a tax break and refund while Mr. Maxey was chairman of the service committee? This tax break was then given by the Pickerington City Council to the heating company owner after Mr. Maxey was voted off of the City Council and then re-appointed by Fox and Friends. It should also be pointed out that Mr. Maxey then was given the Job of Manager over the Design Plumbing company that was also owned by the same person that owned Colonial Heating and who received this tax break.

Did the President know that Mr. Maxey lied to a Federal Court about a juror and if his lie would have been believed by the Judge it could have resulted in a mistrial?

Did the President know that Mr. Maxey has power of attorney for a convicted felon? In fact he has been writing checks out of the felon's check book.

Did the President know that Mr. Maxey was in attendance at a recent felony trial in federal court and is a close friend with this convicted felon.

Clearly Mr. Maxey got his appointment with the support of the Fairfield County Republican Party Chairman Brian Fox. Mr. Fox will do anything to further his own Political career even if it takes our President down with him.


IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT WE ELECT THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE CANDIDATES THAT ARE ENDORSED BY C.U.R.E.

I sent this to Ohio GOP today

Ladies and Gentlmen,

I found this posting on the Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance Web Site. Although the poster of this information remains anonymous, I do believe that some of these allegations are true and could easily be verified with a little effort on your part. This particular posting followed an informational posting about the fact that Craig Maxey was going to lead the Fairfield County Campaign for President Bush.

I am concerned about this appointment because Mr. Maxey is not popular in the Pickerington Area and if he calls Republicans outside his small sphere of influence to help with the campaign, he may be refused because of his past record and perceived reputation in the community.

We need to unite as Republicans to support President Bush in his relection bid. It would help the uniting if you appointed somebody who can bridge these gaps, somebody without the local political baggage that Mr. Maxey brings to the effort. I respect the fact that he is willing to make this effort, but I would be untruthful if I stated that I believed he could unite the party, which is so fractured in Fairfield County. I believe there are probably better choices to fill this role within the party at this time and I urge you, for President Bush's sake, to reconsider this assignment.
