Muscatine

What does everyone think about a couple of the local races?  We have Bob Howard (city council) going against incumbent Nathan Reichert.  We also have Sharon Savage (Musc. Books & More) going against incumbent Jim Hahn.  Also have sheriff's race White vs Ryan.  What is everyones thoughts?  Anyone care?

Well, my intense hatred of liberals dictates my vote. That says it all for me.

To be honest I should reword the above to read "My intense hatred of liberal doctrine" since I don't necessarily hate the person.

I think that we are very fortunate to have so many decent human beings willing to run for public office! We watch the mud-slinging going on at the national level and we all know that there is some of that at the local level, so the fact that folks are willing to make themselves targets is somewhat amazing.

I know that Hahn is a good representative of our area and does listen to the voters. During the time when they were working on the clean air/no smoking in public places -I even hate to mention that for fear of starting up all those smokers again -anyway a relative of mine tried to reach Reichert to have a question answered and he never did return the call. So, you can probably figure out how I feel about his representation. As far as Howard goes, I've heard some good things about him but have no personal knowledge. I do need to do some research on the sheriff candidates as, thankfully, I have not had any professional dealings with them - whew!
