Did you ever do some research into why McCain didn't vote for those appropriations bills for the military? I don't think you did because if you had you would have found that he didn't support them because they had Iraq troop withdrawal language in them or earmark spending amendments attached to them. Some even had piecemeal amnesties for illegal aliens attached to them. This is again classic Democrat election year operating procedures. Make bill, attach pork and other ridiculous amendments making the bill worthless and then scream that the Republicans are being obstructionists when they vote against it. This is exactly what they will do with an energy bill before they recess for the elections. They refuse to allow a vote for a bill that would actually lower energy costs but they will bring a bill to the floor that will do nothing to put another drop of oil in the market and then they will try to blame Republicans for "being in bed in with big oil." They already did this before they went on vacation. That bill would have only raised taxes on oil companies causing even more pain at the pump. The oil companies won't eat those tax increases they will pass them on to you and me and we will pay it every time we fill up. And then Brain Williams shook his head in disgust as he blamed the Republicans for "blocking an energy bill that would have eased the pain for Americans at the gas pumps."
What liberals don't and can't understand about the war in Iraq is that it was actually a brilliant move to fight terrorists. Was Al Qaida already in Iraq? Maybe not Al Qaida but there were terrorists in Iraq and many of them. But what this did was to bring every terrorist in that region to Iraq to fight the US troops. Basically we brought them out in the open where we could kill them there instead of fighting them here. Now it has got to a point they can no longer find people willing to strap bombs on their backs and the Al Qaida network is in crumbles. So keep saying that Iraq was a mistake but history is going to show it was a brilliant move.
