I wonder if this had taken place at one ofthe low income apts or at 5th and Mulberry and all the kids involved had been hispanic or black if we would even be having a discussion about it or if the cops would have exercised discression and not charged anyone.

My opinion is they all should have been arrested. They were underage and they were drinking . And yes they were caught. I know these things go on all the time and many are not caught.  But the fact remains these kids were caught and they should have been charged as such. It sounds like some of the kids have a drinking problem already if they have been drinking since middle school, what is it gonna take to make someone take some responsibility here.

As far as my opinion goes, I think football or any other activity is something they earn a right to play, if they do something such as this they should not play.  If the team loses then they can lay some of the blame on the ones who failed to stand up for their obligation to the team. School is there for learning and yet most everything is based on sports etc.

This happened last year too, so apparently kids are not learning from it and parents are just sweeping it under the rug and saying the cops messed up. Yes kids do get by with things but also if parents are on the ball they have an idea of what is going on with thier kids and they are responsible for thier kids. I checked on my kid as he was growing up and he better be where he said he was going and doing what he said he was doing. Too many parents don't bother anymore.
