I applaud you and your son for being a good parent and your son reaping the benefits of that.  I also know how important teachers are in a child's life.  Our country needs to be proud of a family such as yours.  I am one of your neighbors here who can truly say "I am proud of you both."

Clearly, the dominant posts here give cudos and blessings to your son. Me too, as a veteran of another time and another place.

Please notice that the most extremeist liberals here have not even acknowledged this great event, and support!

Not one liberal here has acknowledged our safekeeping via your son....obviously great.

I am very surprised how little people reply on this subject. They are ungrateful in my opinion. I was also surprised in telling people about my son and looking at the grimmaces on their face. They say stupid things like "what if he dies in war?". You don't say things like that to a parent. My son has been dreaming of becoming a Marine since he was 12 years old. His dream has come true and I am happy for him. He said if he evers dies, he wants to die in battle and know he will die happy.

But anyways, I did like your post BB, you hit the nail on the head.

I definately am NOT a liberal and didn't respond to DF 'cause I'm relatively new but let me tell you how grateful I am that DF's son and all the brave men and women who preserve our safety and our right to freely speak opposing views on threads such as this.

Many, many of us pray for these dedicated, loyal Marines and other Service men and women. We also pray that our fellow Americans will honor them and not use their displeasure with any official to be disrespectful to our "troops".

DF, isn't it GREAT when your "kid" makes you want to burst you're so happy? There is no greater satisfaction in life,as far as I'm concerned. I'd tip my hat to you both -if I wore one. LOL
