Let's hear it (Wahoo!) for Walmart

Posted in: Muscatine

I've spoken enough on the topic.

And yet you've hardly said anything. I've posted a number of items to help illustrate my point yet you keep saying "I believe you're wrong." Are you saying that the items I've cited are inaccurate? Are they untrue? I'm always open to learning, so help me out.

Now...

Misquote? No. I never claimed you did. Misunderstand? Who knows? You seem to think that it was some sort of insult towards you. In truth, it had/has nothing to do with you, just your employer. If you're insulted so be it, but the criticism was directed at Wal-Mart.

And the difference between the B&D hammer from Wal-Mart and the same B&D hammer sold at a local store is who pockets the profits? (This goes as a response for married too.) As you may have noticed, I've used the words "whenever possible" a number of times. Sometimes we are all forced to make a purchase that we aren't happy with.

Dam I take a day off fishing, and it was a good one all hell breaks loose.  breaks loose. That's the reason for the late post.

I try to shop Muscatine, but I am learning the lesson the hard way. I bought a band saw a few months back from Farm & fleet a cheapie and I spent 4 hours straighting it out as it was assembled by a idot. Now insult to injury they quit handling the blades. So now I have to go to the Quad Cities & it is not Farm & fleet it is B&B hardware.

I believe Wal Mart will stick it to you but no quicker than Hy-Vee with that Black Angus beef. That was sold in Wisconsin in the mid 70s and it was a joke then. The pastries at Hy-Vee are brought in frozen then baked at the store. frozen when ?

We buy all of our meat at Fairway mostly loins with no charge for cutting & wrapping any way you want it. We just bought 20 lbs of 93% hamburger and I will put it up against any other grocery stores as it is still there after you prepare it. The brats & bulk sausage are the same way & again they wrap it any way you want even 1 brat to a package even if you buy 20 for no charge.

My horn quit so it is someone elses turn.

JOS...you've presented a lucid, sensible arguement on this subject.  This almost always eliminates Chosied from the conversation.

Bigbrother,

Every time you talk about Wal-Mart, you call it weirdmart.  That I can recollect, you have never said anything good about Wal-mart!  That's why I called you "weird brother", or weird bigbrother, whichever it was.  If I offended you, I am truely sorry.  I just REALLY get tired of the BS that's constantly spread around about an employer of mine that treats me really well!  Again, I can't talk about OTHER Wal-Marts, but, I can CERTAINLY talk about THIS Wal-Mart!  I can't say enough about how I'm treated there.  Starting from my Manager, all the way up to the Store Manager.  Now I might add that some of the higher management could use a little extra training in employee relations, but, I've found that to be the case in EVERY large corporation that I have worked for!

I ALSO find it interesting that I had to bend you out of shape to find out that it was YOU who bought my wife and myself dinner that night.  I racked my brain for a week, trying to figure it out.  For the dinner, AND the thought, Myron and I thank you whole heartedly!  It was the normal wonderful dinner, and, you certainly topped it off.  IF I knew who you were, I would PERSONNALLY thank you.  But, since I only know you as "Bigbrother", I guess that I have to do it here, on this board.  For the longest time, I thought that it might be a Wal-Mart customer, since I have had more than one compliment come down from the home office, as to how I treat our customers.  Again, I thank you for the thoughtfullness!  I know that the bill had to be at least $60, so again, I thank you for it!  MAYBE someday, I can return the compliment.   And lastly, I picked on you, because YOU are one of the FEW that can NEVER say anything good about Wal-Mart, or chosen, for that fact.  Since they are easily tied together, it's like a double whammy whenever he speaks.  It SEEMS like you ALWAYS jump in, with BOTH feet whenever you're doing the Wal-Mart/Chosen tag team match.  I'm sorry if I'm too thin skinned about my employer, but, I've always felt that when you're talking about my employer, you're ALSO taking about me.  There are other places that I COULD work, I just CHOOSE to work for Wal-Mart!  That's the NICE thing about being retired, I can NOW pick and chose when I work, where I work, IF I work.  Life is grand.  Again, thank you, from the bottom of OUR hearts.  Sorry if I offended you, but, I hope that I've been honest and upfront with you, like I have ALWAYS tried to be when I post here.  Have a GREAT weekend.  Tom Milder
