Wroe,

I don't know when this "supposinglly" happened, but, How did you ALMOST have an accident?  How did the tire ALMOST fall off?  Were you missing lug nuts?  What kind of damage did the "almost" fallen off tire do?  Why did they offer you $50?  Why not $20, OR $200?  I've worked with those people for over 2 years, and, there's ALWAYS someone in the "general public" that you can't please NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!  You are REQUIRED to sign the bill of sale that states "have your lug nuts checked/tightened AFTER 50 miles!  Did YOU sign the sheet?  Did you have the torque of the lug nuts CHECKED after 50 miles?  Who did you talk to to ATTEMPT to resolve your "problem".  I PERSONALLY know all the individuals that have worked the "desk" for the last 5 years, and, I KNOW that IF a situation came up like you are alluding to, that there wouldn't have been ANY mention of a $50 payment to make it right, but, would have made it right, TO YOUR SATISFACTION, no matter what the cost!  SORRY that YOU had a "BAD" experience, but, DON'T give folks the impression that they are taking THEIR lives in the own hands, IF they buy tires FROM Wal-Mart!  OF COURSE, you can ALWAYS buy them there, and, have them mounted/balanced, elsewhere.  Just MY thoughts.  Tom.

FARM & FLEET. The clerks are polite, service usually good and the store is NEAT. Think FARM & FLEET.Thumbs Up

We have bought tires from wal mart the last two times we bought and never had a problem with them at all. And yes we did sign a paper and they also told us to bring it back after 50 miles to have it all rechecked and we did that. Have not had a problem. My sister bought tires from them and one was bad and they replaced it at no cost to her what so ever.

Will the Michelin man be at this "tire event"?

Probably not since Bridgestone is practically next door (Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions).
