I stopped in at a local bank, other than my own, and was refused service because they ask for a photo ID. I presented my drivers license. They refused because it had expired a month before. Photo was still me though.

Florida vote, davieboy??? My son was overseas at the time, deployed on a ship from Florida. His whole unit took great pride in filling out their absentee ballots together one night and putting them up for mail call to Florida. Their ballots were received but never recorded in those counties due to the arbitrary postmark deadline. We know liberals had motive AND opportunity to make sure those ballots did not make it. There was more than one unit on that ship that did the same thing, and theirs didn't make it either. Most troops were for Bush in that election. The Libs knew that...so the absentee ballots from military mail had to go, especially from Florida, and libs used the postmark of late military mail to deny the ballot's count!

People serving on submarine duty, for example, where ships can be submerged for 30 to 60 days at a time, have no recourse to normal postal services or timetables. Literally, the mail is posted and sent when they come up for air near another ship or at port.

(In part, from National Review Online...) "So, it's for these reasons that Florida was exactly right when an election bulletin was generated that absentee ballots from the military need not be postmarked as of Election Day. It would be sufficient to merely have a dated signature in order to qualify. Surely, the Tallahassee Democratic attorney, Mark Herron, was aware of all this when he sent his now-infamous memo to thousands of Democratic poll workers advising them how to disqualify absentee ballots. This action led to roughly 40% of the military absentee ballots being thrown out. Efforts by Democratic spokesmen high and low to deny the memo itself, and the intent of the memo, and the results of the memo, smacks of dishonesty and unpatriotism. That's the long and short of it."

Gee, the libs in the 2000 election supported our troops the same way walmart does today!!! We have rules to by and we don't care about you!

Florida's 'Disappeared Voters': Disfranchised by the GOP

Nevertheless, agencies controlled by Harris and Bush ordered county officials to reject attempts by these eligible voters to register, while, publicly, the governor's office states that it adheres to court rulings not to obstruct these ex-offenders in the exercise of their civil rights. Further, with the aid of a Republican-tied database firm, Harris's office used sophisticated computer programs to hunt those felons eligible to vote and ordered them thrown off the voter registries.

After reviewing The Nation's findings, voter demographics authority David Bositis concluded that the purge-and-block program was "a patently obvious technique to discriminate against black voters.
