I guess Bush must be King of the World because gas prices are sky high everywhere.

How is it that he could influence the price of oil/gas EVERYWHERE?

I'll bet that Bush was responsible for that earthquake over in Illinois too! What else can we blame him for?

It seems that we all have forgotten what we learned in Civics class - that NO ONE PERSON has ultimate power - there are checks and balances. So if Bush decided to raise the price of oil - Congress would have to go along with that. That my friend is the reality.

When the candidates spout those "campaign promises" - they can not deliver without approval of both the House and the Senate. That's why we see so few campaign promises become reality.

Everyone has an easy answer to problems . If Hillary and Barack thought that they could fix the government, why didn't they work on that in the Senate? All those easy answers really aren't that easy!

To be completely honest, Bush was not elected in 2000. Al Gore won that election. *shrug* You win some, you lose some. And sometimes you win and still lose anyway.

Okay - let's go back to that Civics class - who did NOT know that the President of the United States of America is elected by the Electoral College????

Don't you really believe that the Electorial College was passe' about 100 years ago?  In this day of computerization, one ought to know the outcome of the presidential/congressional elections within one hour of the last polling place closing.  IF we can get our tax refund sent electronically and NOT hacked, why can't we do the same with our voting?  Tom.
