Ok here's my take, let's see, well you have a group of friends that like to do meth that have learned how to make it.  these guys are just your average construction workers that like to smoke meth. Instead of being alcoholics they chose to do meth.  A lot of people have their choice addictions. some it's beer, some sex, some cigs, some drugs and for me it's chocolate.  they are no where near large scale dealers making thousands of dollars. did you see their vehicles, these guys are dumb___ junkies who got caught making drugs for themselves and their friends. now when alcohol was illegal people made it in their bathtubs and basements. I myself would rather have these guys buying their choice of highs at a legit retailer and not on the street. I would rather there be a manufacturer that had restrictions to follow then being made in my neighborhood by curly and moe. I would rather give a child sexual predator 30 year prison sentences then a junkie, meth head. I remember a killing in moline . 3 men beat one guy to death at a fair on river drive. two of the guys got 10 years and one got acquitted.  C'mon stop believing every word you hear. Iknow a few addicts and they don't break any laws except the possession charge. crazy to lock someone up for 30 years over drugs.  everybody knows more people die every year from alcohol then any other drug out there. prescription drugs kill more. ridiculous, so in your mind it is ok for a part of society to be free and not another. sure glad chocolate is legal. notice all the shootings lately . I wonder how many of them was or had taken depression drugs(prozac, Ritalin, etc. ) so how many people out there been affected by alcoholism. I had myself some alcoholics in my family. one uncle I never met because he was killed. he was home from vietnam and he went out partying. he and his buddy hit a tree on his side of the car killing my uncle. the buddy received a broken arm. I also have a junkie in the family and it is almost exactly the same. they are both very hard to deal with. but 22 yr sentence for a drug WOW.  see I would rather have some one introduce my kids to drugs then to rape them. I don't know how you all feel , but to give a child raper less time then a drug maker is crazy. I personally do not like cigs and booze. but I do not feel that it should be outlawed. why is everybody so scared of legalization. are you afraid that if it is legal that you would became an addict. C'mon I choose not to use and not just because of it's legal status. I choose not to use because I do not like it. see just like everyone else that does not use. C'mon are we free adults or are we controlled children who needs supervision. I myself do not need uncle sam to tell me not to use meth, but if you guys do I know a country that will. you could go to Korea. Stop infringing on some one's rights.  who has been bothered by meth heads . we throw these people in prison for 20 yrs and what do you get for it. are the drug uses going down. are we winning this very expensive war on drugs. does sending them to prison fix these guys. are they worse then a sexual predator. C'mon thought this was the land of the free. that is unless you do drugs and are gay. war on drugs is working so well that there are no drugs in prison .  yeah right. C'mon.   this is a tragedy!!  these drug wars is not working!!!the children are the real losers here. they  lose their mom and dad, their home and they were there when they raided the house. so it's a complete no win all a around for these people. and now we as tax payers get to pay for the investigation, arrest, prosecution, and the housing. so looks like a lose for the tax payer too. well that is just how I see it.

So basically you are saying you want to reduce crime by making crime legal. You want dopers to be able to get their high without the crime. Why stop there? Why not let child molesters adopt a child of their own so they won't be out grabbing kids off the street? Lets give blank checks to bad check writers and let taxpayers cover that too. And if prostitution was legal a lot of politicians might not get in trouble. I can see it now. We can cut the crime rate considerably by legalizing crime.

Society must draw a line in the sand somewhere and enforce the laws or society will perish and be replaced with one that will.

I am trying to formulate a response to this one without being inulting and it is difficult to say the least.

If you are talking aobut decriminilazation of marijuana, you may get some agreement as to its merits. I know I believe that it should be decriminlized. in fact if it were not against the law, I am fairly certian that I would enjoy a smoke now and again.  I wont even address booze because it has been debated for years and you nor I have anything new to add to the arguments for or against. Either you drink or tollerate it or you dont.

As for hard drugs...you have either never seen the afffects it has on the users, their family and friends or you choose not to acknowledge them. A meth user, due to the affects of teh drug, does not think like a rational human being. Same for users of coke and heroin. Would you think for a second that trading your sister or child for drugs is a good thing? It has has happened more often than you might guess. Would you trade sex(men and women doing it) to get high? It happens daily. Would you steal from your family, sell grandmothers jewls, dads collections, your sisters barbie doll or whatever you can steal to get high? Break into your neighbors, rob and steal anything of value to buy drugs? Dont try to tell me that legilazation will stop the stefts and human trafficing. The long term affects of the hard drugs will ot be mitigated by legilazatoin of them. Folks will still have the long term healt affects of them. Folks will still need them. Do you propose that our tax dollars be used to buy the drugs for the addicts? I hope not.

Land of the free...yes it is. Free form the tyrany of drugs if we so choose. You see my liberal friend, your rights to freedom end at the end of others noses. Freedom does NOT mean we are free to do whatever we wish regardless of the consequenses to ourselves or others. No one is locking up folks for being gay. I challenge you to show me even one instance today where that is true. Folks that manufacture drugs in a house where kids are present should in fact loose thier kids. Plan and simple. The kids do not have a choice.

Enough of that!!!!

I have been resisting this statement long enough..........You are an idiot.
