The downhill incline... we could close Logan at that end, because people have to slow down all the time there, cars turn from Cedar to Logan all the time.   People need to slow down and pay attention AND stay a safe distance from the car in front of them.  I would love to see a temporary sign there, but I think only the people it effects can see why it would be nice.  Safety is the issue, so many new drivers and aggressive drivers those times of the day.

Sometimes courtesy helps too.  Using blinkers for a start, but then that always doesn't help because at the speed some drive you never know if the blinker is on by accident or if they are really turning.  Slow down people!! Someone else's child might be in one of the many other cars driving on Cedar St.  All the parents of students driving, remind them daily to remember they are not alone on the streets, because I have had more than one teenager within inches of my bumper while turning from Cedar to Logan, sorry kids but I am to old or not stupid enough to take that corner (or any corner) on two wheels! The last young man that did this took a fast turn into Y, when I pulled to the side of the street, guess he didn't want to hear what I had to say!

A little off the subject, but something to think about....has anyone noticed how many people think they are the only ones on the road?  I was taking my son to West on Friday morning, three cars in front of me is a person with their left blinker on trying to turn into McKinley.  Wow was I shocked (not really i guess) not one person would slow and wave them to turn. After 12 cars went down Kindler there was finally a break and they could turn.  Every one of those cars would wait in line at the stop sign on Kindler and Fulliam.  SOOOOO why not do a good deed and let the car turn!!!

I always let the other car go first at a stop sign when we get there at the same time, always let someone cut in a long line of cars, and most important I always let the pedestrian cross.  Has anyone else almost been run over (especially at WalMart), when they were rushing in because it was raining or snowing or bitter cold and have the person in their warm, dry car just roll through the stop sign and not even see you!!

Tom, I asked someone who works at Sheriff Office, they're pretty sure the school would be the decision maker for the temporary sign...so good luck.

Thank you for the help, I will attempt to contact the school to see what can be done.  Thankx again.  Tom.

Oh I agree that all drivers need to slow down and be more considerate but I am afraid that is not gonna happen. I used to dread being in that traffic just around the high school each day cause those kids come barreling from those parking lots and would ride your bumper, more than once I saw rear end accidents because of fast driving or just not paying attention. Then when they get on cedar street watch out !!! I am so glad that time is over for me.

I know that it has to be hard for people coming off logan to get in the traffic on cedar and wished there was a good solution but am not sure what that would be. That intersection in winter can be a really slippery one.

I know about common courtesy and many drivers are lacking that. They roll thru stop signs and think they don't have to stop. Never give the pedestrian the right of way, heck we are sitting in our nice cars, let the person walking go. It don't take that long.  I guess we are all in too big of a hurry these days.

Sorry, folks, but the answer to the traffic problem at Cedar & Logan is to widen Cedar and create turn lanes.  While we're at it, there should be a side walk from Parham to Houser St. so that we don't have kids walking in the street!  Ofcourse, the project would HAVE to be completed during the summer when school is out, and, finally, you are still going to need stop lights at that intersection.  No sign that has to be manually turned will ever work.  On many days they can't seem to remember to place the stop signs at the high school entrance!  How will they ever remember something three blocks away?
