When I was about 11-12 I gave up my comic books for Field & Stream, Outdoor life and other like magazines. I got my first shotgun then, which my grandson now has. When I was 15 Guns, Guns&ammo, Shooting Times and Gun World magazines hit the newstands. I bought all the first issues and many, many after that. Back then, guns were more easily available than ever. Mail order too yet. Big guns too. 20mm anti-tank rifles, $100. Ammo for them, a buck a pop. Wholesale shootings like today were pretty much unheard of.
If I were 15 today and reading what I read then, I'd probably be sent off to be examined by counselers and liberal shrinks. IMO the key to the problem is buried out there in plain sight. It started with irresponsible parent/parents, lenient judges, Dr. Spock and other assorted nutcases wielding way too much influence and power. The PEOPLE have to take back the power.
