True!
Many noted this prior to the war. While almost no one thought he was growing and gathering, as Bush claimed, many thought he might have a small amount of left over wmds. But with no ability to store them, there was no real concern there. |

The country had
had the fever. But be clear what congress voted for. They did not vote a declaration of war, as would have been proper. They cowardly avoided the public scorn by passing the buck to the president. This is different than voting for the war. While I think everyone who voted for it should be fired, it is a misrepresentation to say there was a vote for war when factually there wasn't. |

After Clinton bombed Saddam in 98, Cohan said the threat was eliminated. Many often use Clinton's and other's words out of context. Also, most of congress at the time was reading the NIE that was filled with Feith's inappropriate intel. This included coerced testimony that the CIA itself doubted. Also, even if Clinton did as you suggest, one lie doesn't justify another. ;) |
