Once the home of such major manufacturing giants as Western Electric, International Harvester and Sears, we are now an up and coming residential neighborhood. Many residents are renovating and remodeling. The Historic Chicago Greystone Initiative is leading the way. And there is new development beginning. Home prices are still affordable. We have two lovely parks that provide swimming, basketball and baseball. There is lots of casual dinning and a newly developed Lawndale Plaza shopping center.
