I live in Lansdowne and am working with the Ronald McDonald House that is being built in Charlotte, NC.. scheduled for completion in 2010. The house is being built to house families with critically ill children at CMC or Presbyterian in Charlotte. The home will be 34,000 square feet with 26 bedrooms.. Right now I would like to ask the residents of Lansdowne to get involved in two simple ways:

1. Save your soda pop top tabs ( I will collect them or you can drop them by my house)- The recycling center donates all the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald house.

2. Save all the little shampoo bottles , soaps etc from hotels when you travel. These will be used for the families that stay at the Ronald McDonald house.

Later, after the house is built, there will be ongoing need for volunteers, but I would like to form a Lansdowne Casserole club, that cooks for the families with casseroles once a month or so.. again  I will collect the casseroles and deliver them to the house... but that is about one year away....just something to think about...

Let me know if you are interested in collecting pop tops and shampoo bottles... If you are interested in any other activities or involvement, let me know and I will point you in the right direction.
