Who is INC?

In 1975 a handful of neighborhood activists from around the city began to meet. In 1978 after three years of informal meetings and networking, the organization of Denver neighborhood groups known as the Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation (INC) was incorporated with a formal set of bylaws.

The basis for INC is a belief that neighborhood organizations deserve a greater role in participating in city government, as well as a shared vision that neighborhoods are stronger when they work together and learn from one another.

What Does INC Do?

  • Holds monthly meetings to discuss common issues and concerns
  • Organizes committees for special issues such as transportation, education, zoning, and public safety
  • Sponsors forums for ballot issues, candidates, and city-wide topics
  • Runs the Dollar Dictionary Drive to annually provide a dictionary and thesaurus for every Denver Public School 3rd grader
  • Creates links to city government and schools by holding meetings with city agencies and placing members on boards and task forces
  • Impacts decisions made by governmental entities that affect neighborhoods
