I've noticed....

I've notice what seems to be a lot of Arson in certain areas of Detroit. I am in agreement with you about the mass of them. Someone needs to seriously look into the issue. An idea of mine was to give the unclaimed homes away to investors or homeowners for FREE and allow them to fix the home up using their own funds. B/C if you take a detailed look at the situation the City of Detroit is losing out on property taxes on these abandoned and fire damaged properties. Property owners are falling deliquent on their taxes b/c their no longer interested in the property. Can you imagine how much the city is losing every year on NOT being able to collect property taxes from the THOUSANDS of homes that go vacant, abandoned, and fire damaged each year. Detroit NEEDS that money....

Abandon houses

Yes, I noticed. I live next to one that has been vacant and burned and open since February 99. I have had two complaints with the city to no avail. It is so bad I cannot sit on my deck on a nice day because of the stench. There is no owner for that house. I checked with the register of deeds. The name on the deed does not exist. What can I do now? The weeds are crossing over to my property and the mosquitos in the summer are horrendous. Kids have to walk past this house on the way to school.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem? The previous owner went to the penitentiary for drugs. I'm retired and I can't even enjoy my front porch or my back deck. I need help.

I want to help. Houses like these need to be fixed. People like me need houses like these to get people in them to fix them. I love ugly houses. Please get me in touch with any information you have to get me to these houses so I can help with this problem. Any help you provide will be greatly appreciated.
