I am the original poster and will point out again that I am aware of the purpose of the guardrail and am not questioning it's purpose or importance.  It just seems that the job was not completed when it was installed and it should be painted.  I am still waiting for a follow-up reply from the Maintenance Association as I feel it is their responsibility or the responsibility of whomever installed it.  With an understanding of the purpose of the guardrail, the bushes would be for aesthetic purposes only.

By the way, it is good to see someone else from the neighborhood reading this forum and taking an interest!

Greetings.  The Maint. Assoc did not install the guardrail, the county did.  Other posters have stated the reasons  for it...

Anyway, this was discussed at a recent maint. assoc.  meeting.  The result is that the county installed this guardrail at their discretion (or they might have asked the resident).  It cannot be painted, and is supposed to look the way it does - the "Rustic look"... i.e. "Rusty look" prevents corrosion.

Please direct complaints as residents to the county, as the maint. assoc. has been told that there isn't anything more that can be done for the guardrail.

Does anyone know if the guardrail is on the resident's property, or county property, or community property?

The guardrail in NOT on the resident's property.  I believe it is on the communities property vs. county.

Thanks for the clarification.  I'll ask the board to look into if it is located on the community vs county property, and to consider some landscaping to attract the eye instead of the guardrail -  to help with the appearance.
