Oral History Training Classes

Saturdays, November 6 and 13 at 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

The Pasadena Heritage Oral History Project preserves Pasadena history conducting, transcribing and publishing interviews with long-time and/or influential Pasadena residents. These personal stories are an important record of life in the Pasadena community and make fascinating reading. They provide a valuable record of what it has been like to live, work and play in Pasadena through the decades from the varying perspectives of the interviewees.

Volunteers who are interested in helping collect the personal stories of long-time residents and influential Pasadenans are invited to attend two free training sessions. Learn from the experts how to prepare for and conduct effective oral history interviews and get involved in this rewarding project.

To register for the classes, please call the Pasadena Heritage office at 626.441.6333. Detailed information will be sent to those registering for the classes. The Oral History Committee is a group of volunteers who oversee the Oral History Project, working with co-chairs Kathy Perez and Mic Hansen, both of whom serve on the Pasadena Heritage Board of Directors. Architectural historian Tim Gregory provides professional consulting services to the group. The committee meets on the fourth Tuesday each month and new members are always welcome.
