How We Began

One of the oldest neighborhood associations in Pasadena, the East Arroyo Neighborhood Association (EARA) began more than 30 years ago when neighbors organized to halt the condominium development being planned for the area north of the Gamble House, what is today the campus of Pacific Oaks College. Not long after that the EARA worked closely with the city to have the Prospect Boulevard Bridge replaced when the existing bridge was determined to be unsafe.

Where We Are

The current EARA boundaries comprise homes and businesses east of the arroyo, including all addresses on and south of Washington Boulevard and bounded on the east and south by the 210 and 134 freeways.

What's to Come

Today the EARA consists of more than 1,400 homes contained in the area bounded by the arroyo to the west, Washington Boulevard on the north, and the 210 and 134 freeways to the east and south. The EARA continues to provide residents of the east arroyo with a means to address neighborhood problems and issues, such as traffic, parking, beautification and safety, as well as to organize social events each year. Nominal annual membership fees plus donations by film companies using the neighborhoods fund the organization.
