Block Watch Breakdown...

The residents and management of Cedar Park Apartments are proud to have formed a Neighborhood Block Watch program in 2003. We have cooridinated with the Louisville Metro Police to bring useful information to our community. The goal of the Block Watch program is to raise awareness. Awareness includes knowing who your neighbors are, reporting unusual activity, and being informed of criminal activity in the area.

Through a network of caring community members we hope to solve current crime issues and reduce future crime. Louisville Metro Police encourage Block Watch programs because THEY DO WORK!

Over the past year, we have had over 40 people express interest in the Block Watch program. Several useful tips have been called in by Cedar Park residents. Also, the police have cooperated by sharing information with us about local crime trends.

The benefits of participation...

Have you participated in the Block Watch program this year? Participation requires very little of your time and can be very rewarding. While we do have meetings on occasion, yu can participate in small ways every day.

Did you notice a vehicle booming with bass in the parking lot? Jot down the license plate number, make and model of the car, and give us a call or e-mail us. If the car is registered to a Cedar Park resident, we will address it.

Did you hear sirens and wonder what they were responding to? Call or e-mail us and we find out the reason behind the call.

Do you suspect someone is involved with a crime? Call or e-mail us so the information can be passed along to our police contacts.

PARTICIPATION IS EASY. Once you have expressed interest, you can be placed on our ''captian's list.'' Captains are kept up to date with e-mails and phone calls. Plus being a captain is a great way to meet your neighbors.

We encourage each person reading this website to call us with your e-mail address so that you can be added to our Captain's list.

What can you do?

*Call with license plate, make and model of vehicles who are speeding or booming their stereos.
*Notify us if you see any suspicious persons.
*Make friends with your neighbors.
*Notify the Cedar Park office if you see police on site.
*Report child abuse situations to proper authorities.
*Watch this website for updates.
