The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) was established in 1939 in response to major changes in the development of public administration. In its 60+ years, ASPA has influenced and been influenced by the field and profession of public administration. With a diverse membership composed of over 10,000 practitioners, scholars, teachers and students, ASPA is the largest and most prominent professional association in the field of public administration.
