Young Musicians Opportunity of Colorado

WHO WE ARE

YMOC?’s main goal is to use music education for the bettering of people and community. We believe that no music program has such a direct positive impact on the community than programs that target specific neighborhoods. YMOC developed and implemented such a music program for local neighborhoods. SCFD funds assist to spread our Interactive Neighborhood Music Program(INMP)among neighborhoods in SE Denver.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

YMOC started in Denver, Colorado, as a free, informal music teachers and musicians association in 1997.

We received IRS authorization as a 501(c)(3) on April 3, 2000.

Currently our Community Music School has 27 students, all successfully completing the music curriculum.

Our audience in Grandchildren to Grandfather Program has grown and reached more than 3,000 people.

NEW STUDENTS ARE WELCOME

Our Music School is a new way of bringing music to the community. We provide high-level expertise in practical and theoretical music education.

At YMOC, talent development is based on proper balance of individual and group education methods.

Experienced professional instructors teach variety of instruments, such as piano, violin, guitar, and clarinet .

Group sessions, school ensembles, and school choir supplement and enhance individual instrument lessons.
We offer the new Interactive Music Program, which brings music education and new technology together. This Program relies on games, puzzles, and live interaction in introducing children to music and makes music education more individualized and fun. This Program is specifically designed for children of housing neighborhoods.
